Visitors from universities participating in the MODEST program visited on the Kumpula Campus the University for Helsinki, Faculty of Science, aerosols/ chemistry laboratories, urban measurement station, ICOS head office, and Finnish Meteorological Institute.
The visitors went to Hyytiala, where the Station for Measuring Ecosystem-Atmosphere Relations (SMEAR-II) is located. Excursions to the SMEAR forest and Siikaneva wetland measurement sites took place. A series of presentations was delivered by participants, and in particular, overviews of educational and research activities at Hyytiala, at the participating Partner Universities, science oriented education approach at INAR, Climate University approach and online courses, Una Europa education collaboration, Pan-Eurasian EXperiment Programme activities, PhD students' presentations about their research at Hyytiala, multi-scales and -processes modelling activities at INAR, advanced intensive courses at SMEAR-II station - from student's and teacher's perspectives, and including lecture on Finnish Sauna.
